About the Amador Polar Bears
The Amador Polar Bears is a recreational swim team based in Jackson, California, serving swimmers ages 4 through 18. Our season runs annually from April through July, providing a structured and engaging summer swim experience. The program is designed for children who are able to swim unassisted and can comfortably participate in a 45‑minute practice session, ensuring a safe and productive training environment for all swimmers.
Program Focus and Philosophy
Our goal is to help swimmers learn, refine, and gain confidence in the four primary competitive swim strokes, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Instruction is age‑appropriate and skill‑based, allowing swimmers to progress at their own pace while being challenged to improve. We place a strong emphasis on personal improvement, sportsmanship, and goal setting within a fun and encouraging competitive environment. While competition is part of the experience, success is measured by effort, improvement, and teamwork as much as by race results.

All practices are held at the Jackson City Pool, a central and familiar location for our community.
